Privacy notice
850 Tax CPA is an online tax service of Dansby CFO Plus, PLLC (d/b/a Dansby CFO+), a Florida CPA firm in Pensacola, Florida ("we"). This notice explains what we collect, why, and how we protect it.
What we collect
- Account details you give us: your name, email address, mobile phone number and a password (stored only as a one-way hash).
- Your answers to our tax questions, the documents you upload, the questions you answer and the messages you send us.
- Security records: when you sign in, what you upload or download, and the network address you used, so we can protect your account.
We do not ask for your Social Security number online. If we need it, we ask for it by phone.
Why we use it
We use your information only to prepare your tax return, to contact you about it, to keep your account secure, and to meet our legal and professional duties as a CPA firm. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for marketing.
Who can see it
Your information is seen by the CPA preparing your return and by the secure systems of Dansby CFO Plus, PLLC that support that work. We use service providers under contract to run those systems: Google Cloud (hosting, storage and database) and Resend (sending account emails). They process information only on our instructions.
The firm's secure workspace also uses AI services from Anthropic and OpenAI, under contract, to help the CPA review your documents. They do not use your information to train their models, and they delete it within 30 days.
How we protect it
All connections are encrypted. Two-step sign-in is required. Your documents are stored in private, encrypted storage that only you and your preparer can reach, and every file is checked for malware. We keep a written information security plan as federal rules for tax preparers require.
How long we keep it
Once your documents reach your CPA's secure workspace, the copy on this site is deleted within 30 days. Your return records are kept by the firm for as long as the law and professional standards require.
If something goes wrong
If we learn that your personal information was accessed without permission, we will tell you as Florida law requires.
